MORE ATTRACTIONS

attractions and activities

Mangapohue Natural Bridge
One of nature's wonders. A small stream carved this bridge out of solid rock. A pleasant walk of only 5 minutes from the road will bring you to this feat of natural engineering.

Piripiri Caves
A short stroll will bring you to a large cavern containing giant oysters fossilised by the Earth's action about 30 million years ago. Stout shoes and a torch are necessary.

Marokopa Falls
A sparkling cataract falling 30 metres into native bush featuring kohekohe, pukatea and tawa.

Marokopa
Black iron sands now mean export dollars. This small settlement was accessible only by sea until the 1930s and was only connected to the national electricity grid in the 1950s.
